Rubén Martín Díaz (Albacete, 1980) has published two books of poems: Contemplation (Vitruvius, 2009 ) and the interior minutes (Rialp, 2010) for which he won the Adonais Prize Award 2009 and the Critical Eye RNE 2010. He is the author of two books of poetry: From a window overlooking the living (Toledo, 2008) and human limits (Toledo, 2009) and a book of short stories: The art of understanding the shipwrecks (Toledo, 2010). II has won the National Poetry Prize-Fund Future Century Foundation of Guadalajara, the fifteenth edition of the Poetic Verses of Love Competition "Francisco de Aguilar Memorial" and the First Prize for Poetry Contest for Young Artists of Castilla-La Mancha 2009. In 2010 he was awarded Distinguished Albacete culture Peña de Albacete in Madrid of the House of Castilla-La Mancha and was named Favorite Son Casares de las Hurdes (Cáceres). My mother


The mother sleeps


sitting in a corner of the room.


Outside the house


collects light


signs that the Later shows:


small strokes of a summer


is soon to arrive.


As I write in front of her, I think,


very little
ago

hand went to college,


watched me in my games


and my nights of tears.


And now


sitting in a corner of the room


eyes light tamed by


passing through the glass window,


rest of the time


-not so long ago, "

fulfilled.


with true vocation,


with extreme subtlety,


medium leave the poem


and I rose from my chair,


approached me


and respite
